In the state of Florida, becoming a Real Estate Sales Associate (real estate agent) requires completing a 63-hour pre-licensed Sales Associate license course approved by the state.
The class consists of a complete 63-hour course. See the schedule below for class description. The links for you to apply for the license are also found below. The class will teach you real estate content in a comfortable setting with a fast-flowing instructor. You will be preparing for the class test and the Florida state exam as the goal.
The instructor is Joaquín Gutiérrez, Broker-Associate and Instructor certified by the state of Florida, founder of JGRES. What is a Sales Associate?
A Sales Associate is someone licensed to help others buy, sell, rent, or manage real estate – but always under the supervision of a licensed broker or approved developer.
Basic Requirements
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Social Security Number: A valid U.S. Social Security number is required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Pre-License Course
You must complete a Florida-approved 63-hour pre-license course. This course is valid for two years from completion. You can apply for the state exam before completing the course, but you must show proof before testing.
If you hold a four-year degree or higher in real estate, you may qualify for an exemption.
Fingerprinting & Background Check
Submit fingerprints via a Florida-approved Livescan provider after submitting your application. Processing may take up to five days.
The State Exam
Exams are administered by Pearson VUE. After application approval, schedule your test and review the Candidate Information Booklet for details.
Fees & Military Discounts
Fees are required with your application. Military veterans, spouses, and Florida National Guard members may qualify for discounts or waivers.
